I LOVED the service today... I again was able to do another favorite service... not that I don't love all service... *clearing throat* Anyway... my cute mom has always had a beautiful singing voice and has participated in many singing groups throughout her life. I thank her for also being blessed with somewhat of a singing voice. As she gets older she tells me she fears that she's lost her solo voice and that she has a harder time keeping the tune/notes when she sings by herself. Last week she came home slightly despairing as she said, "Kris! It's official, I've lost my solo voice. I can no longer sing by myself and follow along." She was asked by the ward choir director to sing the 2nd verse of Oh Holy Night as a solo and after a couple of practices she said she'd feel more comfortable if I sang with her. I sang often in the ward choir when I was in my home ward and have sung a couple of times there again since leaving the ward for U32 (shout out for University 32nd ward!!), so I was grateful for another opportunity to sing there again with people who I love. And Oh Holy Night is one of my favorite Christmas songs! So today, I was blessed with the opportunity to use a talent the Lord has mercifully blessed me with and to sing with my talented mom. And the Lord truly blessed us as we only practiced the song together for the first time yesterday. I'm so grateful that the Lord qualifies His servants who try to use gifts He's given us. It's hard for me to classify it as a service since singing is just something I LOVE to do! But I'm so grateful my mom asked!
And a moment of recognition to my cute brothers and sisters-in-laws and nieces who came to support us! Love you guys!!
